๐ Your Fire Door’s Identity: The Certification Check
Before you check anything else, look for the certification marks!
A fire door is only a fire door if it has the evidence to prove it. Proper certification ensures the door set (door leaf, frame, hardware, and seals) has been rigorously tested to provide the necessary resistance to fire and smoke.
Look For: A clear, permanent mark, plug, or label—often located on the top edge of the door leaf or on the door frame—indicating the Fire Resistance Rating (e.g., FD30, FD60).
Warning Sign: If the certification mark is missing, painted over, or unreadable, the compliance of that door is immediately questionable.
Never assume a door is a fire door; always verify its certification!
